I've got a steel nibbed Matador that is nearly that flexible. Not quite, but almost. Beats the pants off a nice full flex Waterman nib. And that's not pushing it too hard, that's less pressure than the Waterman takes. The wartime German pens often come with very interesting steel nibs. I wouldn't pay 500 for it. But I'd jump on it if were in my budget.

I wonder how long the feed can keep up with that nib. Impressive! :)

All other things being equal, an appropriate steel should easily trounce gold alloys for flex and snap ... probably the strongest competition would come from a goose quill. Of course, things aren't really equal when you factor in corrosion resistance.
