OK. The time has come. I really wanted this pen when I bought it, I wanted a complete Pelikan Tortoise collection. Turns out I'm really not a collector, I'm a user, and this one just doesn't get used. So since I'm wanting a new Nakaya (which I do use) this baby gets to help fund it.
Here we have what Rick Propas calls a "user grade Pelikan Tortoise 101N." It was restored by Rick before I bought it. New cork (which does like to be stored wet), and a tiny crack in the bind stabilized. He sold it to me for $600, I'd like to get $600 for it as I've used it only once.
The nib is a sort of fine-medium and semi flex. Smooth writing, lays down a lovely line of ink and springs delightfully. A nice nib. But for some reason, it doesn't sing to me.
Someone please given this deserving bird a home.

I never thought I'd sell a torti peli. But it turns out a Nakaya I'll use a lot actually does trump that tortoiseshell.
I am happy to send Rick's original pictures to anyone interested.
