When a post is reported, the notifications tab shows that a notification is waiting. When clicked it says (# of reports) Reputation Comments yet there seems to be no way to clear the notification.

Any suggestions?

What's happening is that I've been giving "Reputation" to all users who report spam. When a user reports spam, that action automatically creates a post in the Admin & Mod Discussion forum, which is hidden from anyone who isn't an Admin or Mod.

When you click the Notification drop down menu and then click on the "Notification Comment" notification it should take you to your settings page: http://fpgeeks.com/forum/usercp.php and show you your recent given and received Reputation comments. Since I've been giving Rep to users in posts they're not allowed to see, they're not showing up on this page.

But, if you click away from that page by just clicking on the Forum link in the menu bar it should clear the notification. I've just tried it with a test account and it seems to work.

Doesn't work for me.
For example:The top menu reads; Notifications: 3. When I click that, the drop down says: 3 Reputation Comments. When I click that link it takes me to (http://fpgeeks.com/forum/usercp.php?#reprecv) which is a Settings page with a window reading:

Subscribed Threads with New Posts: (0)

There are no subscribed threads to display in this folder for this time period.

View all Subscribed Threads (http://fpgeeks.com/forum/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription&folderid=all)
Quick Navigation Settings (http://fpgeeks.com/forum/usercp.php) Top (http://fpgeeks.com/forum/usercp.php#top)

Clicking Forums after this still leaves 3 Notifications.

That's true for me, too, Wile E. But thank you for your explanation of what this means, Dan. I hope I did right to notify you of Spam threads (*#$@ spammers!). :)

They clear by the next day somehow though. At least mine did.

Well I just got notified again but it said testing (no idea who) with a link back here.

Once I followed that link it did clear notifications so I be unnotified again.

Dan gave you rep as a test

I guess you passed the test.

Does that mean if someone adds to a user's reputation the mystery notifications will disappear?

It clears the notification when Rep is given on a post that you have permission to view.

So now all I have to do is get someone to add to my reputation here. (nudge, nudge, hint, hint, know what I mean?)

Monty Python quote spotted! :crazy_pilot:

I guess someone would have to add to my rep as well, because I still have that notification pending ...
