This is an ebonite fountain pen with a traditional urushi lacquer technique called "Nama Ha Suri Nuri". Tiny "momiji" maple leafs (from my mother's garden) are first boiled and the heavily pigmented red "shû"urushi is applied. Then the leafs are pressed on the polished kuro negoro surface with a fine thread. After proper hardening the left over lacquer was taken away with a knife. Then followed the classic polishing, "dôzuri" and "uwazuri". Ebonite & Urushi, 18 kt. gold nib. Cap: Length 85.00 mm, diameter 17.00 mm, Lenght 115.00 mm, diameter 17.00 mm, Length 165.00 mm
