Great find! I love the Signature and Autograph pens, though I'll admit I've never gotten the deal you found.
I started collecting them when I found my first Autograph Tuckaway, but it quickly got out of hand. ;)

Beautiful pens, Greg, and that tray is pristine!

(I already commented on Hugh's purchase over at FPB...)

Hey guys, BTW: would you correct me on this? I have a pen that matches the red one in the following image (except mine is in brown striated) - is this band also referred to as an Autograph band, or by another term? It has more patterning on it, even though the center of the band is still open for engraving.

Jon, I'm not aware of the wide band you show ever being called an autograph band. These bands show up on Sheaffer pens made during WWII.
Since Sheaffer was making "official" Autograph and Signature pens in this era, I can't imagine them using the same name for a 14k band and a GF band.
The pen 8th from the left in my photo has a solid 14k band.

Right, Greg, that was the pen that caught my eye, but couldn't tell if it had any of the lined areas. So, do these just get called "wide bands" or something? And then, it probably also has to do with solid 14k vs. GF, right?

That's all I ever called them. Wide band is pretty recognizable.

Hi Greg,

Great spread, you'll need another tray soon!! I've picked up a couple with gold bits over the years but only chased the TM TDs. The Snorkel Auto. set was my best bargain at $10 (~$17 with postage)....one bid on the 'bay!!

The burgundy TM TD Signature ball point is a fairly uncommon creature.

Hugh,
Great pens. I'll have to find, photograph and post a couple autograph TM TD pens. I picked up. There is a red and a green, sent in by a husband and wife. I also have the cards they sent in with their signatures.
