Very interesting site. I could spend all day reading what others have to say about fountain pens. I think I just did! You set me straight on cleaning expectations and showed me some lovely examples of serious instruments. And it was only a few years ago I bought a 12 pack of PaperMate Sticks. Never going back.

Thanks all for the warm welcome. I use a Cross Radiance and Pelikan Brilliant Black. Someday I will try mixing Waterman's Violet and Florida Blue, which is Richard Binder's favorite ink, per Richardspens.com.

As an engineer, I was naturally drawn to the rOtring 600 pencil, but the knurling on the 0,7mm pencil is hard on the plastic finish of the Radiance when side by side in my pocket. Now I've been thinking the matching FP would go well with it. Silver, knurled ends, heft - I want to be interrogated by TSA as I explain "It's only a pen" (yeah, right! I hardly believe that myself. More like a sceptre!)

Northwest Pen Works came up in a search for a local pen shop that might have a silver rOtring 600 FP and he pointed me to your fine website. I could spend a lot of time reading your reviews and thoughts on cleaning. The enthusiasm is contagious!
