It came with an F nib but I promptly swapped in my 1.1 mm italic nib. Very nice. I am getting used to the weight as I have been using a lot of light pens. I am liking using this pen posted but it does feel just slightly back heavy. For work I am really liking the snap cap for quick-on-demand writing. The seller must have seen my Custom 742 pictures that had the green tea included. :p He included a couple of green tea bags too!

Darn, I'm trying to keep away from the more expensive Lamy's but this one is so nice and it has that twisty clip. A very chic and stylish pen. Atleast I have that box.

The nib looks rather scratched up compared to the smoothness of the pen.

You must be tired where is the photo of the tea bags or were you too busy fondling your new B&B 2012 LE Edison Herald Grande ?

Yeah, I forgot the tea bag pictures and the light is not great at the house. I will have to take one tomorrow. The B&B LE pen has me ga-ga right now.

Which ink have you loaded into it ?

The PenShoppe had a violet Studio in their window display today which didn't look too bad.
608
I also like the look of the matt-anthracite lacquered stainless steel one too.
607

Unfortunately they are about twice the price in Australia from $159-$315AUD depending on the model especially when you consider the AUD has been about parity with USD for some time now.
So I ended up with a Pink Safari instead

I sourced my three Studios from Melpens and/or Pen Gallery in Malaysia - prices are better than Oz.

Thanks JustDaveyB, My Citron Nexx came from Melpens. I didn't even think of checking the pricier Lamy's then. The prices are certainly much more affordable.

I have a Lamy Studio in brushed stainless steel with a rubberized section (sort of the opposite of Ivan's Studio). I also swapped in a 1.1mm stub nib and I love that nib. I tried the broader ones (1.9mm and 1.5 I believe) but they are too wide for my taste. I inked the Studio with Diamine Sepia, great colour, great shading...

I agree that the 1.1 is about as big as I can go for every day use.

For some strange reason this pen reminds me of the McDonnell F-101 Voodoo. Must be the general body shape.

Or with an italic 1.1 nib, the RF-101C.

that bottom nib has a flat spot. :p Oh, wait...

I might like Studios too ... I have 7! I have started getting mine from the writing desk since they will sell theirs with the 1.1. I'm sure they change the nibs themselves. I can't understand why the American shops won't do that too.
Some of mine are 7 years old and daily writers and have never had a problem with them. Pity they aren't piston fillers! At least now Monte Verde make cartridges for them so we Lamy lovers have a few more options. :clap2:

7? I did not know there that many colors or do you have multiples of the same color?

I really love the simplicity of this pen. The blue is beautiful but I must admit the grey one really catches my eye! And of curse being a Lamy it will write wonderfully!
I met with a client yesterday and she is looking for a fountain pen, something clean looking and simple to use so I showed her this one and I think she is going to get one!

Bogon, if you go for the brushed steel, remember the section is plastic. It is probably as good as a Safari for toughness but I wanted a metal section.

After our review, this became one of my favorite pens. I could friendly see myself acquiring a few more of these. And if they ever come out with a true stealth model, oh my!

Oh man! An all black matte model would be hard to resist!

Ivan, I do have two of the brushed steel, a bronze, blue, black, violet, and the new dark blue, but I don't have the palladium or titanium. So, as far as I know there are eight colors. Loving the outdoors, I would love to have a forest green. Now that they have introduced the Scalia I wonder if they will continue to expand the Studio line? I sure hope so! I see no advantage of the Scalia.

I forgot about the titanium and palladium versions of the Studio. The Scalia looks a bit more high-tech to me not bad but it does look like a Studio replacement. :(

There are also the:
Matt-anthracite lacquered stainless steel with high-glosschrome grip also called the dark grey Palladium(?) with a 14 Kt bi-colour gold nib, anodized.
Extra shiny Platinum finish with 14 K bi-colour gold nib, anodized
LE Pearl White. (two versions ? one steel nib the other gold nib)

Forest Green !... a Metalic BRG would be on my instant purchase list.

The Scalia looks like what would happen if Lamy put a Studio and a Logo in a dark closet with candles and soft music.

Ivan, a black Studio with the black plastic grip of the brushed steel could almost be a stealth Studio. An all carbon fibre one would be better.

There is an idea bogon! I am sure you saw the FPN version of this thread. Someone there took some sand paper to the section of a blue studio and gave it the brushed metal treatment. I really like it. It looks a bit like a 2K. Doing the studio with the black grip and then adding a a bold black nib ground to a CI. Man! Things that make you go hmmmmmm.

Bogon07

Yes, Flight878 did a very professional brushed metal treatment to the chrome grip.
His photo prompted me to go for the matt Blue before it is completely replaced by the Imperial Blue especially since the UK one I spotted was over $100 cheaper than the Australian RRP.

I am waiting a) to have a job and b) for the royal red LE Studio to come out. I really really liked the pictures on the Goulet's site.

Then again, there are so many pens also on my want list.

The black forest finish is beautiful, very hard to take good pictures of the color though

Bought myself one with EF nib atthe Chicago Anderson pens store in a whim, the balance and weight is right but it had a EF nib which I didn't like. I switched nibs to F and is a wonderful pen.
Correction, the feed was the problem and it all boils down to a cartridge that was defective and was drivign me nuts with low flow. I popped a new cartridge in and it works like a champ.
The EF nib is very nice and is lovely when paired with "dryish" inks such as Diamine Sherwood

Very good pen for everyday; solid writer

I've been looking at the Studio but think I would prefer the matte finish section of the Lx All-Black. However, the brushed stainless looks to have the same matte finish section. Can someone whio has the brusghed stainless comment about the section? Thanks

I sold that pen years ago. It was just too heavy for my hand. I remember it being over 50 grams.
