View Full Version : The Tailor's Pens

I seldom carry my pens out any day except Thursdays. That day I have been using a glove, with a pen in each finger, to protect them in my bag. So tacky, and me a tailor on the side. So I set my husband's new suit aside and made myself a pen wrap. I have fellow Geek alc3261 to thank for the inspiring pattern!

I like it a lot! And those fabrics are beau-ty-ful. Reminds me that I haven't used my sewing machine in a couple of months ...

Yep, it's a long list. I make pen wraps to compensate.......:crazy_pilot:

Better question: where do you find the time? Do you sleep? ;)

Lovely--is it a Hoffman fabric? I like the use of the bead as well, I'll remember that for next time!

(Maybe we need a thread for Pen Wraps.....wacka!)

I would love to have one in a traditional japanese fabric...are you taking commission work? :)

I think alc has an Etsy shop along these lines. Awesome fabric by the way!

Very nice how the print swoops down to form a curving "V" on the inside pocket, especially!

But a glove, just using a glove... now that is brilliant, too. How many single gloves do I have around here? I'm not up to counting. And sometimes I buy them at thrifts, but I am limited with those because my hands are sturdy, not slender...

Very sharp looking!
I particularly like having one pen in "holster mode" for easy access, while the rest are very well protected.

Love the fabrics and the design! Having one or two that are accessible without totally unwrapping is BRILLIANT!

That is a beautiful pen wrap! I think I am going to dust off my sewing machine and try to make something like that. I'm not the best seamstress-but, I can try!

Go for it, even my first one was quite satisfying!
