I decided the other day, after leaving my beloved Twsbi Mini at work the day I went on holiday for a week, that I needed a case to put my pens in. Up until now I've just been putting them in a side pocket of my bag, which they have a tendency to fall out of!

So I had some felt laying around that I'd intended to make a laptop sleeve out of, and started making things up as I went along (as I so often do!). This is the result, I'm rather pleased with it! The smallest pen in there is the Kaweco Skyline, the biggest is the Lamy Safari.

If I made one again I'd want slightly thicker felt to give it a bit more structure.

Hi Holly,

Fantastic piece of work.

For exactly the same reason I have also just ordered a pen wrap from one of the fpGeeks members.

Looks good Holly! Might have to try something similar with mine. Although I do also have a nice Claire Fontaine case that Mandy bought me 😀

I really like the use of felt--it's good to think of pens all cozy and warm!

Very well done.

I like how you created a full pocket for each pen providing excellent protection from the other pens.

I just noticed the thread on the button matches the lining--nice touch!

Thanks all! I've just ordered some thicker felt from eBay to see if I can improve on it with a version 2 :-)

I like that a lot. I'm interested to see where the next versions take you. :thumb:

I've still not made version 2 but version 1 is always in my handbag with five pens in it and is holding up very well!

I really like that! Felt makes for a cushion and a fabric exterior.

Holly, what kind of felt did you use? Is it genuine wool felt or the (half) synthetic kind? I've been thinking about using wool felt for some similar idea, but I'm not sure how it would be holding up to every day carry ...

Cheers,
Adam

Nice work there Holly, don't know why I haven't seen this thread before. One day I will buy a pen case myself instead of just sticking them in my bag! Lucky i only ever take my cheapest pens out with me.

It's 30% wool - got it here http://www.raystitch.co.uk/fabric/coloured-felt.html

The thicker stuff I have is about 3mm thick and 100% wool. Though it's still rolled up in the corner!
