First if all this it's my first post here, so if it's in the wrong place sorry. I am looking for a pen that is retractable, and writes like a G2 or a Cross Edge. I have had two Cross Edges's but they aren't durable enough and I burn through the ink to fast and it gets pricey. The G2 is pretty much everything I need but it's boring in the looks department.

1. Retractable
2. Cost of use
3. Cosmetics
4. Gel

Any suggestions?

When it comes to retractable, the only decent one that falls into the affordable range (as a fountain pen though) are the Pilot Vanishing Points.

Only reason I even mention it, is because you say you burn thru ink too fast, RollerBall (especially GEL) refills are just way too expensive for that, It's likely cheaper with a capless fountain pen to use fountain pen inks from a bottle (and refill a pilot cartridge if you want to keep the capacity high per use). Since using Diamine or Noodler's inks (noodler's especially, since it's 90ml of ink for less than $13 at times) will be far more economical in the ink department.

But far as rollerballs and gell-ball pens on the market... other than a G2, I have absolutely no clue what to look for. Perhaps someone else will chime in.

(I would say you could go cheap with one of the Jinhao X450, X750, etc rollerball versions... but they're all capped and chunky).

PS: There is this, but I have no personal experience with it, but it has a converter to use fountain pen ink with the rollerball.

I have a pilot metropolitan now, but the job is pretty ruff, I don't always have a second hand to pull the cap. I use the konpeki blue currently with my fountain pen and love it.

I used my VP at work but the ink capacity is something I needed to keep an eye on.

If you want to use the G2 refills in a sturdier body these might be better. http://karaskustoms.com

Pilot VP is the best EDC pen for work, especially if you have meetings or do a lot o start and stop writing.
