I used to tear open letters at the side, but lately I resolved to get me a letter opener. The best thing about it was that I actually got to refurbish it. :)

Cheers,
Adam

Very nice!
I am not a huge user of letter openers, but do love me some titanium.
So, I backed this kickstarter, and love the Ti letter opener/ tool: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1316675987/tiletto-the-titanium-letter-opener

Best Regards, greg

My late Father used to have a brass letter opener shaped like a German U-Boat, he was in a raiding party during the war that raided U-Boat pens and he found it inside a U-Boat.

Sadly since his death only a couple of years ago it vanished from his house, I wonder which relative had his eye on it all these years.

It would have been a nice item to own.

Mr. Poly:

Absolutely beautiful job on your shiny new leather letter opener.

There won't be a letter that is save anywhere on the planet.

Thanks a lot for your nice comments! I've been meaning to chime in again earlier, but I wasn't online very often these days.

Since I have my new letter opener it's even more fun to get letters. As a stationery and paraphernalia nut, I wonder why didn't think of a letter opener earlier. Now I'm on the lookout for some more 'victims' to transform. Could be the birth of another collection. :help:

Maybe some of you care to show your letter openers? I really appreciate your stories too!

I just use this.

That's nice! Could've used this beauty, but it would have been a bit impractical (and it's not sharp). ;) The SAK in my pocket would have been an alternative too.

That is an absolute quacker.

Snedwos - nice wood-grain on the knife handle.

Makes my Commonwealth of Australia government issue one look very pedestrian.

Sleek, stealthy ... and it draws the fine line between life and death by desk acessory wherever you want it to. :crazy_pilot:On a side note, I wish I had never followed the link to your Etsy store! So many cool items ...

Here's another one that got some leathery love recently. I had a little fun with the pic today ... I aimed to recreate that feeling of a product larger than life, that oozed out from the ads in 1970s and 80s LIFE magazines. Obviously this is not to be taken serious. And there's no periodical called Stationery Weekly (I'd SO subscribe to that if it was real). ;)

I'm not absolutely certain of the actual age of this one, but I do know it has been around for at least 40+ years!
