Noodler’s Liberty’s Elysium fountain pen ink is an exclusive color to the Goulet Pen Company. To be honest I am not a huge fan of exclusive partnerships, like not being able to get the best phone from my provider, but in this case I think it’s a partnership that works. For one, Noodler’s makes loads of blue inks so if you can’t order from Goulet you aren’t up a creek without a paddle. At the same time it’s well known that Brian Goulet is a huge fan of blue inks and having his own in a way seems fitting. I also admit that I came into the fountain pen world a black ink first kind of person but Brian has been a huge influence in shifting me over to blue first.

Noodler’s Liberty’s Elysium is near the top of my favorite blues list. I think it’s exclusivity would keep it from ever being my top pick but in a blind lineup of random blues it might take that top spot from time to time. Like I mentioned before Noodler’s has a lot of other blues and several are favorites of mine as well.

This blue is a great “true blue” in my opinion. It’s not trying to sneak into any other category. Although I do love a good blue-black this bright blue wins over those nearly every time. It’s fun but yet can be used in a professional setting. It’s semi-bulletproof meaning it’s going to last for a long time and is even partly water-resistant.

This ink comes in 3oz (90ml) bottles for $12.50 from The Goulet Pen company.

I do like this ink but probably don't use it as often as I should, or would like to. No real reasons - just laziness on my part!

Mine is significantly darker than that, and my old bottle got darker over time. I got a replacement from GPC, we'll see how this one works out.

Does " semi-bulletproof" mean unsuitable for those of us who are likely to drip ink onto our clothes, carpets, cats etc?
I like the color very much and am concerned it would adorn more than my correspondence.
Kindly advise, knowledgeable ones. Thanks.

I would agree that the color is stunning. Definitely a "Blue to view". I have spent a great deal of time just viewing the label. Something that I enjoy doing with the Noodler's inks. The downside is that it bleeds through the copy paper used at work. Which is sad since my fellow co-workers will miss out.

I sign a lot of documents. I use this ink in my desk signature pen. BSB was a bit much on several levels, but this ink has that same type of pizzaz in my view. I do use a more formal, darker blue for more serious work, but Noodler's did well with this ink.
