Hi Geeks,

Just wanna share my latest find, an early 45 Flighter GT, circa late 1960s. The nib is fine 14C gold. This particular model is noted for the plastic end on a stainless steel barrel. Which described by Pen Collect (http://pencollect.co.uk/parker45.htm) site as:

Early models had a silver arrow clip and a black plastic end cap although at some point in the early 1970s the black tip was changed to a silver metal tip. Rarer versions exist with coloured end caps and shell section to match, for example red.

Such as this one:

I cannot really complaint aside from the dried permanent black QUINK that was a pain in the backside to clean 100% from the slightly shrunk section. And I certainly can't complaint, considering I got this pen for about $5!

That is a great find for $5. I picked one up for over $20 recently.

Thanks! This one's also black (if you could ignore the golden bits) :p

Flushed of the old permanent black quink and just gently repolished.

Parker 45 Flighter "Insignia" (1965) 14C medium nib, made in England.
Quink blue cartridge. I particularly like the slightly stubbish nib.

It's nice to see another red one ... now all we need is a blue one ... Parker made blue tail pieces and sections for their Brocade Lady 45's so I wonder if any were used on Flighters?

Hiya CaptiveLight. You have a lovely, chockfull of info web site! Thanks for that. Yes, I have seen a picture of the blue tailed one (http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/212179-show-us-your-parker-45/#entry2215130). So, apparently you were right that the red is rarer.

However, to be honest, Parkers aren't really my main focus so I doubt I can get more of these.

Thank you ... I use my website as a way of remembering everything I can find out about my pens.

Okay, in today's post we have a .... Blue Tailed (and shell section) Flighter. Anyone know if they did any other colours?
