I see from a Fountain Pen Hospital email that Pilot is coming out with a limited edition Vanishing Point in copper with rhodium trim. It's here (http://www.fountainpenhospital.com/Index_Showcase.asp?BOD=/backroom/%3Futm_medium%3Demail%26utm_content%3D090414%26utm _campaign%3Dmania) on their website. I think it's stunning.

It looks like John Mottishaw has it up for pre-order, too, here (http://www.nibs.com/pilot-vanishing-point-copper-le.htm).

Well, perhaps everyone already knew about this except me. :) But if not, enjoy the eye candy. :)

It certainly has an elegant appeal to it, maybe a tad more effeminate in shade than say the color I like on the Metropolitan Bronze Lizard.

By the way I'm not seeing any Pilot pens on that first link.

Bummer; sorry about the bad link. I'm not sure if I can link to it with my browser, now that you mention it. If you go to http://www.fountainpenhospital.com/ then click on the Pen Manufacturers tab, then click Namiki/Pilot on the side of that page, you'll see it. No affiliation, of course.

They're using frames so helps to open the link in a new tab then use that url. It was under the Limited Edition section.

I think they need to use friendly urls and drop the usage of frames since that's pretty old school, though they probably don't see a need to improve their web presence if they're well known.

By the way the Green Ice and Anniversary Nioh vanishing points on that same page look nice.

Awesome, thanks. I know, right? Website design is so important but it's hard for companies to find the funds to update them these days. My husband's firm is the same way. Very 2002.

The green ice was popular. The only "must find" for me was the purple, though I would have say "yay" if an orange dropped in my lap.

That page reminds me that I've always liked Pilot's Maki-e, even though it's not really my taste and it's never going to be in my budget. But those are really nice when you see them at a pen show.

I really like the copper/rhodium combination! Really elegant-looking, in my opinion. I wasn't a fan of the black trim on the Metallic Vanishing Points that came out this year. If only those were redone with rhodium instead!

I wish the copper was a shade or two darker in color, but it still looks pretty good as is. I need another VP anyway, right?

I agree 100% .. it's not *quite* dark enough for me.

The lightness is why it seems more effeminate to me.
