Did all of them have Parker 51 imprinted on the filler? If not, when did they start and stop doing so or what it just in special models?

On the filler itself? You mean on the aerometric portion? (guessing not vac cuz where would you put it?)

No trick question. I am still learning Parkers. Someone once mentioned all 51s have a 51 on the metal part of the filler. Just wondering if it was true.

Some early Vac fillers were marked.

Aero fillers have different markings depending on the model and when it was made.

I have a 51 Special and on the casing/framework that holds the aerometric sac it reads Parker "51" Special. This one is from 1953.

Also some colors only come in one filling method, for example Plum can only be found in aerometric, and Cordovan Brown in Vacumatic.

An aerometric won't show an end/blind-cap on the end because it disconnects just behind the section with it's built in squeeze filler.

I have a Cordovan Brown Vacumatic with a date code of 1948 1st Quarter (by the stamp it has '8' surrounded by 3 dots), but the nib on it which writes like a fine to medium has a 1950 date code on it's base.

I don't mind my Vacumatic, holds quite a bit of ink (Around 2.0ml or so), but it can be a pain in the butt to flush out completely for an ink change.

I think the Mark III pens do NOT say Parker 51 on the sac guard.

My Mark III Parker 51, made in England, bloody burgundy, says '"PARKER 51"' quotes around the Parker 51.
