It's time for another notebook review. :) I decided to do a hand written one since it shows of the paper and fountain pen interaction with the paper. No sponsors this time unless I count myself as the sponsor. :D Please excuse my mistakes. The review was written front and back to show it's ink resistance.

Argh, KrazyIvan. Now I need to go to a stationary store tomorrow ~_~

And that despite hating ring notebooks...

KI, as usual another detailed and helpful review with wonderful pictures.
50 pages for $7.75 is on the edge of value for money although I've noticed that Japanese stationary has a trend to rather thin notebooks 30-60 pages in some of their premium products.

I think I've spotted some of the these in the Kinokuniya shop here and must check them out further.
I normally don't like ring bound books but do have some Kokuyo ring folders already and am quite pleased with them.

Thanks Ivan. Great review. Unfortunately I don't like spirals. Don't they hurt in your pocket?

Nice Review. I probably won't buy one, though, because of the small ruling.

Yes, they are on the edge of the value scale but the fact that they are very fountain pen friendly makes up for it. I noticed Jetpens sells them in bulk and the per notebook price comes down some. I may try to convince my Jetpens buddy at work that he needs something. :)

Great review as always ... Thanks Ivan

Thank you for the kind words.

This one is not pocket-able. A5 fits nicely in my padfolio.

It is small ruling but I like it so far. I don't usually go for very large ruling anyway.

Looks good to me. might get some next time I order from jetpens. I for one prefer spiral bound notebooks when I'm leaving the written pages in the notebook. My top-staple-bound rhodia pads don't work well when I get halfway through them, the big folded back bulge really cramps my style. the top spiral bound books lie flat and are a joy to write in every time.

thanks Ivan.

one more thing- for those who dislike spiral binding, why?

Great review. Very nice crisp writing. I own a Blueline spiral notebook that comes with all sorts of stickers to organize sections.

@manoeuver spiral binding can get in the way of writing for those who suffer that most tragic condition called left handedness.

What he said!

Which is why I write in them from the back.

I even find spirals a little bit annoying sometimes and I am right handed. The spirals on this notebook are so small I don't notice them especially when I fold it over on itself.

Thanks duende. I still have a long way to go, at least that's what I think when I see others hand writing. (Like Manny's, AKA Gclef)

I just don't like the spiral binding for aesthetic reasons. I also find that the binding seems to unravel a bit at the ends. I much prefer stitched, although I do get that spiral books will always lie flat.

I am quite fond of Kikuyo notebooks. The more I use them, and Maruman, the more I think the Japanese make the best fountain pen paper :)

This is the second Kokuyo notebook I test that has really fountain pen friendly paper.
