This is the pen that clinched for me the difference between being a collector and a user. I bought it because at one time I thought I wanted to collect every tortoise Pelikan produced. But I've realized that what I actually want is a couple pretty pens I'll *use.* And for whatever reason this pen and I haven't clicked. Most likely because the nib isn't oblique (and I'm weird in the way I hold my pens, I need an oblique nib).
So. It is up for sale.

This bird was restored by Rick Propas of the Penguin Pen. Rick grades this pen as "user grade" because of the color difference between cap and body and because there is one tiny crack in the body binde that Rick has stabilized and considers no longer a problem.
The nib is a lovely semi-flex fine. Which means I love playing with it, but just can't comfortably use it for long periods.

Beautiful pen. I love sitting and holding it, very comfortable and well balanced in the hand. These old Pelikans are just great pens.

The piston uses a real cork. I've found that cork really, really, really wants to be stored wet. When not stored wet it shrinks pretty quickly and needs to be rehydrated. It will rehydrate easily, but something to be aware of if you are not used to real cork piston.
I'm asking $450 for this little beauty, plus shipping costs. Will send to your US Paypal address.
