Some of you may have noticed my enthusiasm for Frankenpens; I should love to see yours (if you have any!). So to start the ball rolling, here are most of mine. You will note that I have adopted the spelling "nibb" for "nib"; this is a nod in the direction of Parson Woodforde's "pigg" and a little touch of gothicism!

I've done a lot of creative things with pen parts, but I don't seem to have many in my case anymore, and half of those are pretty lame insofar as they are closely approximating parts from the same manufacturer, e.g. a Sheaffer BP cap on an FP 1949 "fat" touchdown, a Sheaffer Prelude nib on a "deluxe" Sheaffer No-Nonsense pen. Here's one of the most aesthetically pleasing mixes, one that perhaps might have made a viable product back in the day. I had an all-black late-1930's Sheaffer Oversize Balance, but there was a crack in the barrel at the lever support groove, which made for a floppy lever. I also had the cap on a 1930-ish Black and Pearl give up the ghost. I decided to make one good pen out of them. I quite like the result. Also included are a couple of nib-transplants onto Chinese pens from vintage Sheaffers that had issues.

So I'm not exactly alone then?

Hurrah!
