I received my Alba a couple of days ago - very nice colour Purple and Extra Flessible nib but unfortunately it leaked at the section/barrel join and has had to be returned.

Sorry to hear that, I was considering buying one myself. If you don't mind sharing, did the retailer do right by you? If not, who was it?

That is a shame. Are you getting a replacement or a refund ?
They are attractive looking pens with the stylish fluting.

The retailer has ordered another one for me so I don't have to wait for a repair. They offered a refund in the meantime, no complaints about their service - Write Here! In the UK

I've read somewhere that the factory italic for Omas is untipped. Why would they have an untipped gold nib?

On the tip of nib, do you see a distinctive line between the tipping metal and the gold nib?

Yes I do & it writes wet and beautifully smooth

Oh okay. I guess the information I read online was wrong.
