I posted this on another forum, but I thought some might enjoy it here.

I've been taking a break on pen buying for a few months while I saved for a more expensive pen. However, I saw the Chibi on JetPens.com, and, at less that $3, decided to spring for it with a paper order, especially since I'm about a month early on my savings plan.

Now, I'll admit that I didn't expect much. I'll admit that it's actually a nice little pen, and feels right for this price point. I don't think this pen is anything spectacular, but it's a pleasant little pocket pen for its price point. I don't do number ratings, and this is an initial impression only. I'll film a video review down the road after I have time with it. Sorry to say that I took these photos both at home and at school. When I was at school, the Kaweco Sport was not available, but it occurred to me this would be a natural comparison once I got home.

The writing sample was done in on the of really good Apica notebooks, and did not particularly impress. It felt like the nib dragged across the paper. It did not glide. No problems with flow.

And here's a picture from school. The pen was a snap cap. It also looks like it could be an eyedropper, but I want someone else to try that first! I believe a converter would work in it because the cartridge is a standard international cartridge. But, I have the feeling that a shorter converter would be needed.

And for those who like size:

In short, it's a nice pen and, at $3, worth trying. The writing is decent, and the plastic feels good. I wish there were more color choices.

Thanks for the writeup. I've been watching for someone to write about the Chibi. I agree that I'd prefer a different color, but I'll pick one up with my next JetPens order. I'm interested in how long it will sit before hard starting.

That is TOO cute. Like a flat-top Pilot Petit, sort of. Thanks for the review...I think...because now I have to go look...

Can that nib possibly be swapped into another pen? (says she who has, er, a few vintage pens which need nibs...)

It's friction fit, but smaller than a #6. I'm not good with nib sizes, so I don't know what size it actually is.

Probably worth my buying one and seeing. Thanks!

So super cute! I think I might pick one of these up with my next JetPens order.

I wonder if there are more colors....
