Probably nothing. Family and Friends wouldn't know what to get me, they still occasionally link me to some ballpoint shaped like a bullet thinking I'd be into that, just because I'm into "Fancy Pens", not really understanding that it doesn't mean I'm going to go for some gaudy or Bullet/Rifle BP. And the folks who do know what I like are too intimidated to get anything because they have no clue what's good and what's not.

Essentially it's the same with my photography stuff, I just don't expect any gifts when it comes to being hobby-oriented.

Last decade and a half (so... since I was 17 or so?) it's been the bare essentials, some dark chocolates or truffles, good pack of socks, etc. On occasion something nerdy like Game of Thrones figurine or something related to Doctor Who, or some gag gift, etc (though I did put out the suggestion for maybe a nice pen stand or inkwell..., but doubt anyone local would know what to look for). So in a nutshell I don't really have any expectations, I just show up for the experience.

You and me both, Karl. Our families sound very similar (one year I got a book of two dozen puerile couplets because I read 'cultured stuff,' so I must like poetry, and if I like poetry, then a book of poorly written ones must be a great gag gift, right?)
I feel your pain.

usually the boyfriend just hands me his credit card and has me order my own gift. This year I may just order a bottle or two of ink (no, i do not go overboard with the ordering) as i cannot think of a sub $100 pen that I want.

Also not expecting any fountain pen related gifts this year but I'd like to buy a bicycle and I think they're all going to help with that. <3

I'm the only one in my family in a position to give gifts, so if I hope to get something, I'd better buy it. I'm pretty happy with what I have, I had a good year for pens, but who knows, maybe in a moment of weakness I'll get a Bexley Stalwart or a Franklin-Christoph Model 02 or Model 65. Maybe both, I have a birthday near xmas too :).

I have a pinterest wishlist board that I give my parents the link to so they have a very specific idea of what I want, otherwise they have no clue! It has a few pens on it - an of course overly optimistic Nakaya (worth a shot though!), a Lamy 2000, a Franklin Christoph model 02, an Edison Premier Neveau, and a TWSBI Vac 700. No idea if I'll get any of them of course, but no harm in educating my non-fountain pen family :-)

In my family we don't do much for gifts, maybe a small token.

I'd kind of like to give my brother and his wife a pen and ink. He's a forester, so I'd like to give him De Atramentis Fir ink, and I'm thinking a Lamy Safari. But, these items go a bit beyond what we usually exchange...though maybe he won't notice that I have used much from my bottle and I could just send him that along with a new Safari. Blue is the color he likes, so maybe the pen in that color. Or, maybe pink, if it's a his and hers gift. He gets the ink, she gets the pen and they share? Or I splurge on a his and hers pen and ink?

Just one of the older Sonnet nibs that are springier. I don't really need much else, I'm hoping to sell off a fair bit of my collection this Christmas.

Nothing for Christmas....no planning on purchase any pen or ink for myself too.
