Perhaps look at this one. If a few of us could buy he might drop price further

Is he reliable? I wonder about the amount of fakes sold on ebay....

As someone who was thrilled to buy the Marine Blue at $295, I'd advise anyone to jump on this. This is a fantastic pen at an unbelievable price from a wonderful seller. Kudos to Tony Rex for sharing this.

I would not describe this as a demonstrator. The material is a very dark blue, and hard to photograph, because it always seems to look lighter and more like a demonstrator in photos than in real life. Pelikan describes it as translucent, which is accurate. You can see the ink level if you hold it up to the light, like many other Pelikans, but you can't see the inner workings of the pen as you would with a true demonstrator.

What makes that soooo hard to pass up is knowing John is going to inspect it and tune it before it leaves.. that is a huge plus. Not that Pelikans have issues from the factory but I know if you were to request him to set it at a lighter or stronger flow he would. WHATS even worse is you could have him stub it or add flex to it and you would still be way under the $300 mark.

UGH>...

I'm out. I wanted this as an everyday writer. I got the email today and it mentioned that I didn't specify a nib size (which I did) and only broad is available. To get it ground to a fine is another $55. Starting to push that barrier where other pens are more worthwhile. Oh well
