I'm becoming slightly obsessed with collecting 3776s. They really are lovely pens.

Keep in mind the Massdrop is for the Platinum 3776, NOT the Century 3776 shown in the video.

https://www.massdrop.com/buy/platinum-3776-fountain-pen

The Difference is the 3776 does not have the slip-n-seal cap, and it has an older nib/feed design.

Also the one on Mass Drop is a Steel Nib.

PS: If you do want a "Century 3776" for cheap, you can import them directly from Japan for around $90 shipped (shipping is around $12-15 for 3-4 day EMS), which has the option of 14K Ultra EF, EF, F, M, B, BB and Soft Fine.

Link the Black, Blue (Chartres) and Red/Burgundy (Bourgogne) one.

I believe this is the most misleading Massdrop offer ever.

I believe this is the most misleading Massdrop offer ever.

They're technically correct, they titled it correctly, and they did state it has a steel nib (but course didn't bother to mention that it's not the Century 3776 :P). Why it pays to read everything before jumping the gun.

What's misleading is showing that video then mentioning they're on sale at MassDrop when you just hyped people up over the slip-n-seal cap which doesn't exist on the older 3776.

Yeah I would not do the Mass drop one, I've bought my two (#3 in the mail) from various sellers. :)

I noticed that the Massdrop ( location here https://www.massdrop.com/buy/platinum-3776-fountain-pen?mode=guest_open )

Has that video inside of the drop's description. That's even more misleading than just the thread of it.

I am glad you were around to spot that, well caught. I have been burned once with MassDrop although they gave me a free pen to apologize. I wanted to give them another chance....but that's it for me now...

I do not think they are technically correct when they say
"Elevate Your Writing
Platinum took fountain pen technology to new heights with the 3776 Collection, which derives its name from the 3776-meter elevation of Mt. Fuji's summit. The new 'slip-n-seal' inner cap creates an airtight seal that prevents evaporation to keep ink fresh, bringing you a smooth start every time you pick up the pen, even if it's been sitting unused for up to a year. Put this pen to the page and take your penmanship to new heights."
