Yesterday I received 5 pens a day earlier than I expected to receive them. They were in trade for my Parker 51 Vacumatic and Bexley Jitterbug (and spare nib). The 5th one was a gift which I'll probably PIF to someone new to pens (what new person wouldn't want a Wearever Pennant or Sheaffer Tip-Dip as a first pen or first vintage pen :P)

This is probably the prettiest of the batch. A Parker Vacumatic, Gold-Pearled color with a 14K F (writes like a modern western EF). It's a similar color to my Sheaffer Tuckaway Valiant in gold/brown striation but in a different direction.

This is technically a Frakenmatic/Parkerstein because the cap was rebuilt from parts of other Vacumatics. So the split-arrow clip is most likely not original to this pen. I suspect the blind cap probably isn't original either.

Probably a Major size (5.1" tall capped, 5.9" tall posted, 4.75" tall uncapped, 0.48" wide) and has a speedline button (after the lockdown, before the plastic button) with instructions printed around it on how many pumps and to pause during each stroke.

There's a date code on the barrel for 1940, 3rd quarter of the year (A Zero with a Single dot to the lower right of it). The barrel has a decent translucency to it, shows as kind of red where I can see thru. When I did a water test it seems to hold about 1.8ml each time when I pumped it back into a sample vial.

The previous owner had this comment on it during our trade discussion.

it's been restored by Danny Fudge, the cap is probably mismatched (been rebuilt from another vacumatic), the blind cap is missing the metal (happens on these pens) and the nib had to be bent back into shape; that was done by Ron Meloche (really good pen restorer locally).

Original Cap/Clip or Not, I quite like it so far.

Now for some pretty pretty pictures.

Frankenparker or not, it's beautiful. I love the golden pearl striped celluloid.
