I’ve always had a soft spot for Picasso fountain pens, hard to say why! there is just something about them that draws me in. The Picasso brand is ranked amongst the high end in quality and price when we are talking Chinese fountain pens. For the presentation box upward the brand shouts style. Produced by the Shanghai art stationery limited who have be authorized to use, by Picasso family, the Picasso name.

So where do we start. Like many Picasoo pens the 606 is on the slim size, only 10mm at the widest point on the barrel, so those who like there fountain pens on the chunky size may want to give the 606 a miss. The barrel supports a classic Picasso candle design which looks like its been etched into the barrel. Somehow this really set the pen off for me, I just love it. Capped the Picasso comes in at 136 mm. The cap holds the brand logo and a stylish sliver clip. The grip section is a smooth glossy black leading down to a hooded fine Picaaso steel nib. Although smooth I didn’t fine the grip section too slippy and to its credit is a good length, 21 mm. The cap is of the pull of type and seats back into position with a nice reassuring click. When posted the cap feels firmly in place, but did seem to make the pen feel a touch back heavy, not so heavy as to put you off using it. For me this is a good weight for a pen 25 grams but those who read my blog will know I do like a lighter fountain pen.

Being on the slimmer size I did find gripping the pen a little more difficult than I would normally, but that’s do to me not the pen. If you like fine pens (and I do) this is very good not too dry and not overly wet a smooth nib, no line variation but you can’t have every thing. All in all a well made really nice pen.
