Hey y'all! I haven't been around much in the past months, but I thought I'd pop in and show off my newest creation. It started as a custom job and evolved into an experiment of sorts, pushing my own bounds concerning materials and technique. The premise was to use thinner, softer leather than I'd ever done before and still be able to pull off nice handstitching as well as presentable edges. I must admit that Hermès still does it a bit better, :rofl:but it was my first try, so I'm proud of the result.

I'm right in the middle of assembling the second, identical, one that I made parts for and will put that up for sale over in the classifieds section in a couple of days. ;)

Thanks a lot for looking!
Adam

Beautiful. I think this is the nicest pen case you have made. I bet the one that goes up for sale will not last very long before it sells.

Thanks everyone! Just back from meeting the customer who actually paid more than I'd asked in the first place (the pouch being a first and all). :thumb: Can't wait to finish the second one. I've already had an inquiry for that one from an acquaintance who saw a picture of pouch no. 1 on Facebook. If she decides not to take it, it's game on the classifieds ...

If only there weren't other commissions to work off, I'd make a pouch for myself right now. A customer of mine surprised me by sending me a vintage Pelikan 140 as a gift for Christmas. That pen would look so damn good inside a sleek black leather pouch. :D

FYI – I finished the second pouch yesterday night and put it up on classifieds. If anyone actually buys it, I might actually not make it to the post office without first spending the money a shovel, though. :smow::smow::smow:

Thanks! The lining is of the same leather as the outside. It's delicate so it needs to be lined anyway, in order to make it rigid enough.

It looks great. And I'm fussy! (and a novice leatherworker). Thanks.

Thank you! Yes, those are burnished, sanded, dyed, sanded, dyed ...and so forth. It does indeed take a while. :)

Great work Polyhistor!

Do you make pouches for 3 pens?

Thanks so much, guys!

mislav, I do make pouches for 3 pens, but they are rather different (a couple of them are on display here: http://fpgeeks.com/forum/showthread.php/7619-Leather-Pen-Cases-%283-pens%29)

So far, I haven't found the time to alter the pattern of the more elegant cases for them to accommodate 3 pens. But it's way up on my bucket list. :)
