Which type of Vacumatic Tool do you prefer?
As I plan to properly overhaul a Vacumatic, I was wondering which style of tool do you prefer for removing the plunger/pump and why?
One type is the brass or aluminum block type such as this from pentooling.com

Another is a hand squeeze tool like this one from pen dragons (https://www.vintagepensacsandparts.com)

There is also the original Parker tool but I doubt I can find one or justify the cost if I do.
And finally there is this one from penpractice.com:

Maybe there are others.
Which type do you prefer and why?
Thanks in advance!
Re: Which type of Vacumatic Tool do you prefer?
The 3rd version is a Loggerhead tool and a split threaded brass C-ring that screws onto the pump thread. Then you clench the Loggerhead grip onto the C-ring and it unscrews the pump.
I bought 2 C-rings together cheaply from someone who used to sell them as a pair on the other place. Then I bought myself the Loggerhead tool from Loggerhead Tools in the US

Get the hand-squeezed one. There are two sizes, the smaller is good for most standard and debutante. The big one is for big maximas.

Thought the big one (yellow) was for the Oversize fillers and that the small one (red) was for all the others like the Standared and Deb.
For what it is worth, mine all came from Parker and don't have colored handles.

I've only ever had to remove the pump on one Parker 51 vac so the C-rings were enough of a spend at the time.
If I was repairing them on a regular basis the hand squeeze tool looks like a good option. After all, that's what Parker techs used. :)

Correct. That's what I meant to say.
