Any Chinese Pens With A Good Piston Fill?
I am looking to experiment with some Chinese pens. Probably swap some JoWo nibs, etc. I want pens with piston fill mechanisms though. Are there any Chinese pens with piston fill capability for a good price?
Re: Any Chinese Pens With A Good Piston Fill?
Wingsung 698, Wing Sung 618, PENBBS 309 (your best bet for switching out standard nibs), Lanbitou 3059, Lorelei Piston Filler, Caliarts Ego II
Re: Any Chinese Pens With A Good Piston Fill?
Wing Sung 3008 seems to be a winner. I've had mine I ked since April and it hasn't dried out and has been reliable, with a good nib, good flow. I've seen others recommend them. The knob feels a little sloppy when the piston is fully retracted for writing but doesn't take away from the performance.

Thank you folks!
Ran across this blog yesterday. Specializes in Chinese pens. https://frankunderwater.com/
Re: Any Chinese Pens With A Good Piston Fill?
I've had a WingSung 698 inked constantly since August 2017 without issues. It starts right up even after sitting for a while. I have only used Namiki Blue ink in it.
Re: Any Chinese Pens With A Good Piston Fill?
I just picked up a PENBBS 309, the pen barrel, cap, clip and nib are (as expected) very nicely constructed, but it remains to be seen how the piston system holds up... it's either exceptionally well engineered to have a very light action, or it's flimsy :noidea: time will tell.

The 3008 has developed cracks at the end of the section. It isn't yet leaking.
If we could combine Wing Sung nibs with Jinhao plastics we would really have something.

I have a Lanbitou 3059 which has been working well for a few months. Decent EF nib.

I managed a Faber Castell #5 nib in a Jinhao 992 but the plastics on that model are not known for quality. I'll see how long it holds out.

Hm. Yeah maybe not Jinhao plastic. But the 51A pens haven't disintegrated yet.
