My comments seems so trivial and trite compared to this, best wishes Countrydirt for a full and quick recovery:
1. Excellent crispy bacon sandwich with a good coffee
2. Prospect of a warm mince pie any minute and rumours of brandy butter to go with it or preferrably them.
3. Listening to some christmas carols, including my favourite Born the King of Angels.

It's her one volume Novels and Stories. I'm rereading The Haunting of Hill House for the first time since America's bicentennial. I don't care for most of her stuff, but The Lottery is pure genius and one I always enjoyed sharing with my Literature students (along with David Macauley's "BAAA").
Re: Three good things from your day
1. My wife is coming home today.
2. Just started cooking a lamb tagine - wonderful smells pervade!
3. About to start baking - an Italian spicy sticky honey cake. :bounce:

1)At 4:50 AM, the cats started a fur-pulling contest in the dining room. There was lots of hissing and growling.
2)I parked in the grocery store's lot and thumbed the door lock button on Miss Mehetabel's key fob. Immediately, four other cars went into PANIC MODE.
3)Played a dinner concert for a group of friends.
