Lamy Aion Nib Questions

I am looking to pull the trigger on an Aion, but I have a couple questions about the nibs:

• I know they are interchangeable with standard Lamy steel nibs, but can you buy the Aion nibs separately or do they only come on the pens?

• Do these nibbs tend to write a little bit wider line than the standard Lamy steel nibs?

Yes, Z53 Aion nibs are available separately. I've ordered a B to replace my EF.

I don't find much difference between an EF Safari and an EF Aion.

Where did you purchase the replacement Z53 replacement nib? I don’t find them listed on any of my go to online retailers like Vanness, Anderson or Goulet.

Perfect! Thanks for the info. I didn’t realize I could get them from Dan.

Another question: can one use the Z55 gold nibs on the Aion? Any experience with the gold nibs and is there a noticeable enough difference to justify the cost of the upgrade?
