Is this a Wahl-Eversharp?
Can someone tell me if this a Wahl-Eversharp pen? My grandmother said she was given this pen from a pen designer she met in a nightclub in New York and says his name was Walt. Maybe she meant Wahl? lol It was in the late 30's or early 40's. Thank you for any help you can give.

oh, sorry! I sometimes/often forget that one of the browsers on my tablet doesn't always show all of the pictures - please disregard previous comment, I will try another browser!

OK, I see them now; yeah could be - 1920s, perhaps?
have a look at 'eversharp desk pen' in google image search

That's a cool background story :)
Yes, that looks like a Wahl-Eversharp desk pen. Woodgrain or mottled ebonite from the look of the material.
Those are high-quality pens. One thing that would make the case stronger is to find an imprint that says Wahl or "By the makers of Eversharp" on the barrel.
And any Wahl Eversharp engraving on the nib, unless the nib has been replaced.

OK I do see WAH on the nib. What can I use to clean it up? I cant get a clear enough picture to see the rest.

For the outside, you might try first with just a slightly moist cloth, and then a micro-fiber cloth by itself. I am sure others who restore pens on this forum will chime in soon.
There's are lots of articles on cleaning pens over at the other place (Fountain Pen Network).

Nice pen and story. If the lever does not move, you can have someone replace the sac and restore the pen. (You can see if moving the lever can make the pen fill with water, but don't force it.)

Just adding a bit of emphasis. :crazy_pilot:
