Re: What is your latest pen acquisition?
A very decent rolled gold Swan Leverless with the quite uncommon "Waverley" style nib. Unlike the last Swan "Waverley" I had, this one is flexible!Attachment 37405

I spend an outrageous amount of time in front of this damned computer! Funny thing is, I always ask the same question when I see things like this on ebay!

Here's an oddball that turned up with a few other pens. An Osmiroid cartridge pen fitted with a music nib:

To me (and I know nothing about vintage pens) that looks an amazing nib. Surprisingly large for a vintage nib?

Hullo.
Yes it was the biggest as far as I know that Mabie Todd fitted to their fountain pens. I am fortunate to have one of my own on this unique presentation Swan. My nib is English and probably therefore a replacement as the pen certainly predates the time when English Swan nibs were first produced (about 1922).Attachment 37459

Yet another Swan: this time a L442E/60. Yes, the "E" means "Eternal" (= nail). I have replaced the nib in this lovely pen with a delightful flexible Swan 4 "Keyhole" nib.Attachment 37567

Franklin-Christoph Model 40 'Panther' with EF Flex nib S.I.G. by Jim Rouse.
It has taken me so long to acquire this particular model and it has now become one of my favorite F-C pen designs.

How flexy is that nib? The Pen Addict review seemed to suggest that it offered little over a standard SIG - what's your experience been?

It definitely has a mild bounce to it that I find quite comfortable, with a consistent flow of ink (no railroading yet). I am new to modern 'flex' nibs and have no previous experience with vintage flex to make a sound comparison.

Another new arrival. I rebuilt it this morning and am very pleased with it: an Onoto Minor 1201.
