Ink Review: Cult Pens Iridescink Maureen (Made by Diamine Inks)
Cult Pens Iridescink Maureen ink is one of the two new iridescent metallic sheening inks that are exclusively made for Cult Pens by Diamine Inks.
Cult Pens describe them as being a bit different and a bit more unusual because they are made to sheen.
Maureen is a very saturated, medium to dark blue ink that can exhibit some very nice contrasting red sheen. There are several other similar blue inks that sheen red, but Maureen compares well against Parker Penman Sapphire, Diamine Skull & Roses and Jalur Gemilang. Jalur Gemilang has a more obvious red sheen.
Maureen flowed well with all of the pens I tried it in, felt slightly dryish, and it’s lubrication was nicely smooth across the page. It dried quite quickly and didn’t smear after it was completely dry.
In order to see the sheen properly, it’s better to write with pens that lay down plenty of ink, and use smooth, non-absorbent paper. I could still see red sheen when writing with my Lamy Al-Star F nib.
I used Xerox ColorPrint 100gsm smooth coated paper, that is not absorbent, and I saw no spread or show-through.

Cool ink! Thanks for the review.
For some reason the thought led me to Cult Pens, and then the writing desk, then I remembered all of my favorite pen retailers are from UK, then I remembered Brexit, then I thought oh no, how will I get my pen related goodies, and now I made myself sad.
I'm weird and I'll see myself out.

Adhoc - yes bought mine from Cult Pens and other exclusive colours from Germany. Don’t think Brexit will have that major impact and I’m in the UK

Well if I will have to pay 23% on everything at import, it will. Plus the customs clearance and the extra customs fees...you underestimate the costs of customs in my country :P
