Apparently according to reddit Sailor is re-logo-ing, though there is no source.

It's awful. The typography, in particular, is woeful. Given their brandmark is an anchor (sturdy, secure, steadfast, etc), the font looks like it is about to wash away, especially the A.
It is official, though: the sailor.jp site is already updated.
oh, I quite like it.
the A is a bold choice to be sure, the whole thing is far more artistic looking than the previous logo.
How old was the previous branding?
To me it looks like they used a rubber stamp that had not been properly inked....
We'll get used to it.
Es ist mir egal.
Interesting departure from the old style.
But, this is not the first time they did it. I have an old Sailor pen which has the logo with an actual sailor in it, sitting on the anchor.
I agree with catbert, in the end we'll get used to it.
I'm just glad they don't follow where OMAS and Delta went.
I don’t like it, but i can’t get worked about it either
I'm afraid this floated into my head and demanded to be shared. I apologise.

I wonder when they'll release the specialty nib that was used to create that font.
New logo due to new owners?
I like it. There is a 3D quality to the letters.
I like the new shade of blue, but I don't know what to think about the lettering and logo... they're fine, but I wouldn't say it is an upgrade to the old lettering and anchor picture. They should just incorporate the anchor into the word sailor or something.
That's two good points. To be fair I like the shade of blue too and think that's an improvement. And indeed, if you're going to mess around with the "A" why not go the whole hog and replace it with the anchor? I dunno, I just find missing out the crossbar such a hackneyed way of being "cool" with a typeface, and I wouldn't have thought it terribly helpful for clarity in an international market. Oh well, I suppose they know what they're doing. Or else they don't, and like Parker, will backtrack to the old logo again in a few years!
Wonder if the rebranding will result in increased sales? Prefer the old branding, but the new looks more origin ie Japanese
It looks more modern but on ther other side it reminds me to Klingon Bird Of Prey :)
The new logo looks half done or bad artwork. Sad!
