Re: Three good things from your day
I've just found this thread today. I love it. Here are my three things from today.
1. Finally finding a good penman to repair my Sheaffer Targa in my country.
2. Having a lovely time with my wife and my 4-legged daughter
3. My back is better than yesterday. (Hell yeah!!!)
Nice weekend everybody.
Re: Three good things from your day
1) Completely, shockingly new haircut and color, Platinum Pixie--not a pocket pen!
2) Reasonable severance package from my job.
3) Saw Clare Danes in the amazing movie "Temple Grandin".
Re: Three good things from your day
1. Last night the remaining three members of our old Celtic string band convened and played our favorites from the master tune list. We played for five hours and then hoisted a few beverages.
2. Gave Sasha and Polly some high-test cat food and some catnip and watched them ambush each other before falling asleep in a sunbeam.
3. Refilled the old Snorkel and wrote the first draft of a new story.
Re: Three good things from your day
1. My bathroom remodel is 3/4 done.
2. 5 more days till the Chicago show
3. It's Sunday family day

Re: Three good things from your day
Things have been decidedly un-good around here lately so, it is nice to have three good things to share today:
1. My wife landed a web graphics gig
2. drove to run errands with the top down on the car
3. salt bagel

Re: Three good things from your day
1. Barbecue season has commenced, in the rain and wind...

2. Smoked chuck has been duly shredded and awaits the making of a toasted roll, with some pickle and onion.
3. So that not everything appears food-centric, I added an Osmiroid nib to the big black nibless Esterbrook J I got at the pen show, and put in some Navy Green ink (a mix of about six blues, greens and turquoises).
Re: Three good things from your day
With a small sloppy pre-summer swell coming in, the plan this morning was to get out on the water at 630am for some bodyboarding. Haven't been out since the second to last swell in Sept.
Woke up and got into a bunch of chores etc till it was too late for an early session. Decided to give it a try at 10:30 anyway.
1) Parking was full everywhere but I found a space right where I wanted, and the meter still had 2 hr on it.
2) Had an easy fun one hour session, initiating what will hopefully be a great 2016 Oahu South Shore surf season.
3) After a good session I always listen to Santana - Samba Pa Ti for the ride home. Forgot to bring bring the CD. Loaded up Rush - Moving Pictures and went straight to Limelight. Rocked on... :O)

Re: Three good things from your day
Went for a spin in the new Jeep, today. Removed the top panels and rolled the windows down.
Touched up the canoe paddles with marine spar varnish. We are ready for our first trip of the season on the Tuscarawas.
Ate our first garden salad of the new year: three kinds of leaf lettuce, spinach, kale, onion, black walnuts, garlic, and mustard greens. Made the dressing with vinegar, yellow mustard, olive oil and Queen Anne's lace honey.
Re: Three good things from your day
1. Made twelve pints of strawberry freezer jam yesterday. They all set during the night and are ready for the freezer.
2. The black raspberry canes and blueberry bushes are loaded with fruit that will soon be ripe.
3. Have the garden ready for planting tomatoes, peppers, and beans.
Re: Three good things from your day
1. Here's our container garden so far. We picked up a hanging strawberry plant at a farm market, and turned it into two. Not seen: a Mr. Stripy tomato, a Black Prince, and a Husky Cherry (they're way over on a fence, 'cause they're indeterminates)
2. Strawberry Fields?
