Greetings from Nothern California
I wrote someting here that seems to have disappeared. Excuse me if this is a double post.
I am currently in love with Yard-o-led but I also have a connection to Pelikans.
I've recently tried out Pilot, Platinum, Sailor. I love how the Sailor Pro Gear writes. The Platinum is also excellent. The Pilot is ok. None of them excite me style wise. I think I am more of a traditionalist. I also am confused by the popularity of demonstrators but to each his own.
Happy to be here and to learn more.

Welcome to the forum and you will find you are not alone in being a fan of any brand of pen or ink frankly. Post a picture and writing sample of a pen you are enjoying and be open to comments....the connections and conversations spiral from something as simple as that. People will ask about the ink you use or like, perhaps how you enjoy the nib and feeds on pens you use and such. And folks will ask you for advice on Northern California.

Welcome, you are going to experience a feeling like looking for your ideal coffee or tea, your taste will change with your mood. Unhappily change of mood with pens is much more expensive than than beverages. The perfect pen does not exist, it's like looking for Excalibur. Just enjoy the journey. Apart from that, welcome.

Welcome! I always lose stuff that I post, so you are in good company.
Re: Greetings from Nothern California
Howdy Howdy. I too live in Northern California, although sometimes I think of it as Baja Oregon. I live on the North Coast, in Humboldt County. Where are you?
I have lusted after Yard-O-Led fountain pens and pencils, both, but alas, can't possibly justify spending as much as one of their fountain pens would cost. I've seen a few of their pencils go for reasonable prices on eBay, but that's always a crap shoot.
Anyway, welcome aboard!

I'm in Napa, so we're not quite neighbors. But happy to meet you.

There is considerable pen activity in the SF area. Millbrae is a hot spot for pens and ink.
