Pens that survive at least 1 standard wash/dry cycle?

I usually catch 'em right after they've stained a bunch of clothes in the wash....those have emerged unscathed.

Today I am sorry to report I witnessed my first case of full wash/dry cycle survival in the pen probably least suited for this abuse:
My GvFC Intuition, with its precisely fluted ebony barrel-section. And here I was innocently convinced I'd just set it down on the wrong table. :(
The wood expanded a good deal in width, rendering the nib assembly screw very very sticky, and the cap very very tight, and the section feeling fat. Oddly enough, the captop logo unscrewed a bit too, causing the inner logo insert (would have thought it was one piece!) protrude a bit. That beautiful platinum-plated trumpet cap is now dented along the sides--at least the lovely clip still works properly.
Happily the wood has already shrunk back to size a bit and it seems to remain, to my surprise, completely usable. I've heard they have great customer service, so maybe they could help with the cap weirdness, if not the nib assembly mechanism.

Any others?

It hasn't happened (thankfully), but I'd back my Kaweco AL Sport surviving a cycle.

It has never happened to me and would be unlikely to ever happen as I don't put pens in pockets but like silverlifter I bet there are some pens that would survive a washing machine cycle.

If it had happened to me with a GvFC pen then I'd try making contact with them to see if there was something they could do to help. Sadly I know nothing about their customer service but this might be a good time to find out what it's like. :) Nothing to lose by asking right? :)

how upsetting! The Intuition is a beautiful pen.

I'm certain I've washed a Safari at some point. it was fine.

No fountain pens. Just an early iPhone.

You're reminding me of (I'm to lazy to find the actual posts now) member jar's consistent incredulity that some fools like me put their pens in their pants pockets. I do it much less than I used to, but maybe this should stop me for good.

Before the water resistance was added, I guess--did it really survive?
....makes me wonder how my iPhone 11 Pro with supposed 4 meter resistance for 30 min. would fare....

No staining with "Vert Atlantide" in the pen.
Minimal loss of ink as well.
I will say this...the pen seals very VERY well.
However, that was the first and last time that will ever happen.
I now ensure it resides with the rest of my EDC items when I de-equip.

Laundered a gel pen once with disastrous results but never one of my fountain pens. I think there are still stains in the dryer from that one.

Happened with ballpoints a couple of times, but never a fountain pen. I've never carried a fountain pen in a pants pocket, and they're a bit more obvious when they're in a shirt pocket.

But having said never, perhaps I've jinxed myself.

Yes, I was surprised too. Good pen!

Maybe a wash/dry cycle should be a standard part of all pen reviews from now on ;)

Now 2 days post-discovery, the pen is almost completely back to normal: the cap action is exactly as it was before, and the nib assembly extension is only slightly tighter now. I've reached out to them about the captop issue--I guess the piece was, unfortunately, glued in?

70 C is 158 F. That's around what really hot tap water is.

Washed a Waterman Carene. Ruined pants, Carene OK.

I had a Parker 45 survive. Writes as good today as it did before it happened. The barrel did sustain so.e damage. I later turned a burgundy into a forest green. I couldn't find just the barrel, but barrel and section.

I found the wash-dry cycle completely flushed the pen--it has never written better! I suspect the same result would be achieved by flushing it with a wee bit of detergent in between inks, which I never remember to do.

Haven’t washed a pen, but I did lose a Pelican 205 in October years ago. Found it the following March amongst the mulch in the garden. It survived probably six or seven feet of snow over the winter (oh, those were the days), freezing temperatures, etc. While the body is faded from the experience, it still writes. Used it the other day.
