Platinum 3776 Century Legit?
Hi Folks,
I just picked up my 2nd 3776 Century via Amazon. The internal post that enters the converter in newer pen is black. The internal post in the older one is white. The white post is more snug than the black post. Additionally, there is a slight, but noticeable variation in color of the gold in the nib and on the bands. Is this something I should expect or have I been duped by an online seller?
Thanks a bunch,
B

Probably legit. I believe mine is black. (Borgogne. model)

I wouldn’t have thought it would be of interest to fakers as it can usually be bought for under $150. I have both the Chartres Blue and the Bourgogne versions and both are from Amazon. No issues. If you have doubts just return it. They keep an eye on their Marketplace sellers and those sellers do not want any negative feedback. Anytime I have had an issue it has been resolved quickly and Amazon will pay the return shipping. Good luck.

I think the nipples in all four of my 3776s were/are black.

Just went through all my #3776s and the Bourgogne were white; all the rest black. One Bourgogne was bought through Cult Pens, so I'm confident it's genuine.

Have you checked the nib with a magnet? A faker would be unlikely to use gold. Even non-magnetic stainless steel would be a little surprising.
