The Parker pen that you always wanted
I would very interested to hear from any other members, please
Most collectors always have one or two Parker pens they wished that they could had owed but never quite got there.
For me, it was the modern P100.
Always wanted the Cobalt blue version
Re: The Parker pen that you always wanted
As I understand it, and I may be wrong on this, the P100 was billed as the '51 re-imagined'. If that is true then why did Parker not continue with this instead of the current 'new design' 51 model? Were there issues with the P100? It certainly looks more interesting than the current iteration of the 51, to my eyes at least.
Re: The Parker pen that you always wanted
I have a white one and love writing with it. It seems to have a preference for a wettish ink. :)
It's very scary to remove it's nib.....

As best I understand, the P-100 did not sell. Parker wanted a pen to fit between the Sonnet and the modern Duofold, but they gave up on the 100 after a couple years of nothing sales. I have one, and it writes well. The nib is a wet medium, writes a wider line that my Sonnet medium. The colors were odd, something similar to the Sheaffer Intrigue. Maybe that was a brief design fling? Anyway, the pen is heavy and a bit ugly. Still, it's a nice writer.
Re: The Parker pen that you always wanted
How does it compare with the modern 51?

Re: The Parker pen that you always wanted
Many thanks for the replies.
Personally I thought that the cap design concept was innovative.
Way past Parkers normal parameters.
It was the creation of Geoff Hollington who lives in Brighton, UK
The pen shells were created later.
Used the same nib and feed as the 2002 P51 SE ( the lower shell was modified to accommodate the unique nib & feed system )
Chrissy, many will tell you the nib removal is a dark art – it is not, it is just a very different removal method.
Have added images of this type of feed/nib
The reason it never sold well was the price point, it was too expensive.
It was never meant to be anything like a P51
Whilst I have never own one, I have looked closely at a few.
As an side …………..
Was hoping that others would speak of other models that they wanted and never got to own

Yes I agree: A very different removal method. I gave my section a warm up in some hot soapy water then wrapped a piece of kitchen towel around the nib and grasped only the nib end very carefully then pulled it out with my nylon pliers. The whole feed automatically comes out with it. Very easy to replace it. :) Scary because it's a really tiny piece of hooded nib to grip onto.

Chrissy,
Smiling.............alot
I used my finger nails, it took about 10 seconds
Releasing the feed is an unusual set sequence
Re: The Parker pen that you always wanted
I’ve long wanted a Cedar 51Award Club pen.
Re: The Parker pen that you always wanted
Farmboy,
Sir,
What an interesting pen.
Just been reading Ernesto’s definite bio of this pen.
It was never on my shopping list ( my Parker collection only ran to post 1948 pens )
Given your unique access to the Arrow park archives, do have any idea of numbers made of any of these pre production 1940 four models regardless of shell colours
I am sure that the numbers are very small
Do you have any images of any of them ?
I recall mention of one a very long time ago ( 15+ years ) whilst researching early P51 Aero prototypes.
My memory is not as good as it was once.
Believe it was a US collector mentioned a P51 with a barrel marked Club 51 Award, which I dismissed, it was not what I looking for.
Have seen the Parker 51 club badge, never the pen.
Whilst thrashing around Ernesto’s website, looked at his updates.
They show images of a very unusual prototype P51 cap
An NS Rainbow..........now that is very rare, few will have ever seen one.
Thought they were only made for P61C's
Re: The Parker pen that you always wanted
Will hunt pictures. There are two articles in the Pennant. One many years ago, the other perhaps 5?
The complete list of award winners is known. I’d need to go find my notes on quantity.
In order:
Vacumatic pen
Stirling capped pen
Gil filled capped pen
Stirling set
Plus other awards upto a car.
Re: The Parker pen that you always wanted
I would love to add a solid user-grade ebonite duofold Sr to my collection. I don't have a ton of Parkers. But, to my mind, the big red is the iconic pen from that brand.
Re: The Parker pen that you always wanted
For me, the iconic Parker is the P75 Cisele.
Re: The Parker pen that you always wanted
The 75 Cisele for sure. I also swear I saw a Cisele Parker Classic in a store more than 30 years ago, but I can find nothing about a Classic Cisele anywhere, and that is my true white whale. I think I just got the two convoluted in my brain somehow.

Prettypenquin
I think that you will find that Parker made the International Classic Cisele pattern between 1990 and 1993.
Only in a ballpoint and a pencil, for some reason a fountain pen was never released.
Re: The Parker pen that you always wanted
75 cisele would be my iconic Parker too.
In terms of impossible-to-get, how about this?

Yup. A dream of future past. Here it is in 2001: A Space Odyssey aboard the Pan Am space clipper.
