Help me, Mr. Lizard...

Good Morning,
I'm hoping there is some fpgeek knowledge out there about an unusual Eversharp item I picked up.
I think it is a pencil box, and am guessing it is later, maybe late 60's or 1970's. However, I have no facts to base this on.
