First image made with my Pixel 6A "smartphone." Does well for not being a real camera.

I finally got one of these Montblanc 149 with Calligraphy nib too. I was curious about these pens since their appearance. There has been much information and reviews on the internet so that I renounce to repeat these.
But what I did is a photographic comparison with two other flexible nibs of my collection:

My personal conclusion is: the nib is capable, but not of everything it could, nevertheless accomplish because of its enormous size. This does not mean that I am unhappy. It is simply an observation.
One don't have to spread the tines of the nib to realize how nice and soft the nib is. One can also simply appreciate the thickness of the line of a true XF. And that's what I'm doing at the moment, using the MB carefully as a daily writer.
@christof, you have a beautiful handwriting. However, your letters come to life with the Conklin Endura. Now that's a "calligraphy" nib :thumb:
For quite some time I was looking for a good dip pen for use with indian ink. So of course I could not resist when I was offered these two beauties:

with original boxes!!

Both pens write with extremely fine lines and have moderate flex. Perfect for sketching!
newest (random) arrivals:

all of them in mint condition.
You've pushed my buttons with the Esterbrook. I don't know why, but I really like the pens in that color, especially with the transitional barrel. They usually end up with a 9461. The one in my pen case has migrated to my pocket for the day.
Thank you for the comment Ron. The color is really nice. I should install an ink sac and test write the Gregg nib which looks quite handsome...
The "lowly" Esterbrook. Not. I had a friend come up to me at a pen show and ask me why I was carrying an Esterbrook. The answer, "Because I like the way it writes." Tough pens, well made, capable of surviving a winter lost in a Syracuse snow bank (happened to a friend). The trim is stainless steel, so doesn't brass or flake. Thanks for the picture!

Pelikan 101N Toirtoise from about 1938. Bought for repair from another member. Had to change the barrel and cork seal and to replace the nib. Now it's like new again.
Will be for sale again soon.

WOW. What a gorgeous Pelikan.
I grabbed my son's new Air Max and went on a photo SAFARI...

Thanks to the generosity of a collector friend, I have received several different LAMY 27s as display material to make further progress on my long-term project of researching the LAMY 27*.
I can already say that this answers few of my questions, but raises many new ones....
I will keep you posted.
