Re: Hello from New Hampshire
Welcome! You've stumbled upon a great place.
Do you have any inks you'd like to share as well?
Re: Hello from New Hampshire
I've only tried a few inks so far. The M800 has Iroshizuku Syo-ro, the M600 has Diamine Red Dragon, the Nakaya and Winston both have Diamine Ancient Copper, the Pearlette and Belliver have Diamine Asa Blue, the Danitrio has Noodler's Apache Sunset, and the Wellington has Diamine Delamere Green. Left to try are Noodler's Dragon's Breath and Black, Diamine Chocolate Brown, Private Reserve Black Cherry, J. Herbin 1670 Rouge Hematite, Iroshizuku Fuyu-gaki, Asa-gao, and Taki-sumi. Oh and Noodler's Blue Ghost which my nephew just loves for sending secret messages with a Platinum Preppy eye dropper.

Hello Baric, Welcome to the Forum from fellow New Hampshirites (Concord). We run Fountain Pen Sacs.Com (fountainpensacs.com) and are also fairly new to the forum. Members are great and friendly - like you we were and are members of FPN - still a great site but wanted to expand are horizons a bit. Let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Happy Holidays --Larry & Ewa
Re: Hello from New Hampshire
Welcome to the forum. Nice group. I like the number 7.
Re: Hello from New Hampshire
The Nakaya is very nice in the hand, not too large, not too heavy. It has a nice long grip section. The urushi lacquer is glossy smooth. it always looks wet. The 14k nib is super smooth and gives some nice line variation with the left oblique cut. Being a lefty, I had a tendency to rotate the pen counter-clockwise a bit so the grind suits me up and down.
When I reach for a pen, more often than not it's the Nakaya or one of the Pelikans, those are my 3 favorites.
The Conways Stewarts feel great in the hand, but the nibs needs some TLC, the Winston has a bit of a baby's bottom problem, and I've discovered the really wet nibs on the Belliver and Wellington are not as much to my liking as the more conservative flow in the Pelikans and Nakaya.
Given time they will all be perfect ;-)
It's very nice to meet you all, especially others from New Hampshire.
I hope everyone had a nice holiday. Our house is quiet again after the hordes of family and kids and I'm pooped. Time to relax with my new book (The Fall of Arthur by JRR Tolkien) and a strong eggnog.

Welcome to you and your lovely pens! I just ordered a stub nib for Christmas from Levenger for my Truewriter. They do seem to have a good CS team.

It funny the different reactions the Hyotan gets. The first person I showed it to when it arrived said it was the ugliest pen she had ever seen. Which is the exact opposite of my reaction. One of those love it hate it pens.
