Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
I just got an update from someone in the know at Shigure Inks. Troublemaker is still in business, but the Philippines have been in and out of lock-down for the past few months, which has made it more tricky for them to make inks. Hopefully we'll see them back in stock soon.
Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
Very glad to hear that. The one ink I got from them was pretty great. I would be pretty sad to see them go. Hope they are all well and can return to shipping sometime soon.
Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
Looking at this list I'm kinda amazed we ever manage to guess the ink in the Guess the Ink thread. :D
Anyway, couple more:
Taiwan - Gazing Far
Turkey - Scrikss
Can't find any evidence of bottles from Scrikss, despite having piston fillers amongst their pen models, but cartridges seem plentiful.
Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
thanks grainweevil, added to list. Gazing Far has an ink called Mung Bean - MUST HAVE :)
Scrikss certainly makes some nice looking fountain pens. I have a question off to them about bottled ink so if they respond they do I'll change the "cartridge only" note on the list.
other new changes/additions:
Mabie Todd makes Blackbird ink
Cresco from Poland
Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
Yes, the Gazing Far inks are possibly the first inks that have made me feel peckish!
Remembered another one that had inexplicably slipped my mind:
UK - Beaufort Ink. I daresay, just like many of the rest of the UK inks, they're likely made by Diamine.
P.S. Finally got round to looking up Backpack Inks, of whom I'd not heard. They appear to be in Colorado rather than the UK. :)
Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
grainweevil - excellent catch on my mix up with Backpack, thank you.
I did have to change my mind about ordering from Gazing Far. I had it in my cart, only $12 so very reasonable - but $120 shipping. Serious.
And WOOT! You found an ink from Scotland!
Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
Note: P.W. Akkerman ink is made by Diamine.

That is a surprise! Do you mean Akkerman is just one more ink made in the Diamine factory, or Akkerman produces ink in its factory while being owned by Diamine, or an alternative scenario?
Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
Thanks for this list. It'll help some of us who like ink guessing ;)
Akkerman inks are made by Diamine.....
There's also a series of inks made by Gutenberg Museum... Unfortunately their site is down for now... But I believe they make an Irongall bible ink...
Are you sure Blackstone Inks are defunct?

Does it spoil it if they've moved to Devon...?
As far as Blackstone goes, it's probably telling that Cult Pens has all their remaining inks on clearance. :(

I think that Diamine produces the inks sold under the Akkerman label, just like many other shop inks are produced by a major ink manufacturer.

Fountainfeder doesn't have them on clearance, hence my wondering :(
Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
Found The Gutenberg museum website
Jens and Ptero would be able to give more information probably....
It's a pity that shipping is so expensive, 100 euros to Canada...... :(
Aniline
Lindau Student ink
Bible ink
Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
I hadn't heard of backpack ink, even though it's in my own "back yard" of Colorado. Cool. London Navy looks wonderful.
Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
Yazeh, don't forget the museum's Natural color ink "made from purely natural ingredients according to medieval recipes, filled into hand-blown ink bottles and sealed with corks." Put that in your Homo Sapiens and smoke it!
I'll try to do some more research on Blackstone - if anyone else comes up with a definitive answer if they are still in business it would be great to know.
Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
For Japan you should include Maruzen’s Athena inks
Probably made by Sailor but a distinct branded range

Not "definitive", but perhaps as close as we'll get: http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/fo...ite/?p=4354655

Hope the owner is ok. Yikes.
Re: 92 brands from 19 countries
Nick Stewart Inks (UK) is another brand with a small range of CMYK inks and a nice Blue Black

ChrisJ - two nice adds there! that Maruzen Athena sepia looks really interesting, albeit a bit difficult to get. Nick Stewart Inks look like a lot of fun given the care he took creating those colors.
silverlifter - that seems fairly definitive in my book. sadly.
