These pens are derivatives of the likes of Remington and National, made to the very lowest standards in the United States in the 1930s. They were not designed to be easily repairable, and were a waste of money when new. The original nibs were appallingly bad poorly plated steel. My collection is for historical reference, so I keep examples of all the pen technologies. Here you can see the 1930s pens for comparison.
