Re: Show us your dog(s)
This is my labrador/great dane/dalmation/whoknows rescue girl, Walker. She's 19 months old. She very loving, sweet, and is amazingly gentle with little kids and fragile old people. Her favorite toy is a slightly deflated basketball, especially in the snow.
I'm a cat person, but I love her madly! Truthfully, she rescued us more than we rescued her.

Re: Show us your dog(s)
This is Łapa (pronounced "Wha-pa" and means dog's foot or paw):
Instead of Fetch, Łapa plays Keep Away, and she is a master at it. Also, the Polish word for "give [me]" is pronounced die, which is a horrible thing for me to say to such a sweet dog. Then again, she doesn't "die,' so kindv a moot point.

Łapa likes carrots.

Łapa totally ignoring Benno the Bunny (a moment after I took this picture, she was lying on top of Benno like a pillow).

Re: Show us your dog(s)
I've already posted a picture of my dog before, but I wanted to post another one tonight, because he's my hero right now.
Attachment 9872
I came home from work tonight, and found that someone had snuck into my back yard, grabbed a patio stone, and chucked it through my sliding glass door, shattering it completely. Miraculously, though, and despite the fact that I had my entire Pen Habit recording rig set up not 5 feet from the back door in order to record a few new videos when I got home, nothing at all was missing. All my equipment and (thank goodness) all of my pens were untouched. When I got home, Luke the Dog™ was stationed like a sentry at the back door, sitting on top of a pile of broken glass, staring outside, and stiff as a statue. I'm pretty sure he scared off the would-be thieves, and then stood guard in front of the giant hole in the wall until I got home to board it up.
Thank heavens he's fine, nothing got stolen, and tomorrow I'm getting a new door, a security system, and surveillance cameras (and while I'm at it, maybe a gun.) And Luke the Dog™ is getting an all expenses paid trip to his favorite place on earth, Dairy Queen, for a kids cheeseburger meal and an ice cream cone.
Good dog!

Re: Show us your dog(s)
Good doggie!
Łapa has a good strong bark and chases bicyclists and cars sometimes (BAD DOG!), but she is all bark and no bite. If a would-be burglar broke into the apartment, she would probably cry so loudly, it would scare him away. She has a very impressive cry. Hahaha.
I'm happy for you that nothing more was broken, nothing taken. Extra skritches for Luke the Dog!

Re: Show us your dog(s)
There is one of our dogs that I have not shared with you yet he was our first Springer Spaniel and came from the Northern English Springer Spaniel Rescue.
His name was George and he came to us two years after my life changing accident I can honestly say he rescued me as much as we rescued him he was and still is my constant companion he was actually my first dog.

George liked to howl on the beach he was a fully trained gun dog and would often look at me as if waiting for a command of course I did not know the commands he had been taught and he would howl at me in disgust

Everybody sing the Chorus!
"All God's critters gotta place in the choir.
Some sing low, some sing higher.
Some sing out loud on a telephone wire,
Some just clap their hands or paws or anything they got now!"

Igo, the Maltese with ease. Adopted after his owner passed away. Her husband drove him from San Diego to southern Nevada. His favorite thing? Two words - dog park. :)

Re: Show us your dog(s)
I love Maltese dogs! When I was growing up, my mother's dog was a Maltese. I say "my mother's dog," cos Yuki was definitely her guardian. Yuki lived to about 17 years old. My mother still misses her.

Re: Show us your dog(s)
I also have a Maltese. They are the best companions to have.

This is Goose. She is 2 years old, but acts like a puppy. She gets very scared easily because tall people tend to step on her. She is fairly lazy, like me. She has a favorite stuffed animal that I have to resew every few weeks because she takes it everywhere we go.
