My Optima body cracked and broke, what are my out of warranty options?
Hi all,
my fav Aurora Optima body cracked and broke near the ink chamber. Never dropped, never an EDC pen - just used at home.
I've had the pen for 4 years and sure that it is no longer under warranty. Read around the web at how this is common the Aurora fountain pens.
Would be grateful if anyone has ideas or options.

This is fixable.

Anecdotally, what comes back to you will be as good as new.

I sent them (Kenro Industries) a broken Aurora Primavera (broken in more than a few places).
It cost me more than $35, but a few months later, the pen came back as new.

Must be heartbreaking, sergeysus, but I'm so pleased to hear about the (relatively inexpensive) solution and good experiences of so many members.

I agree with the above. Kenro took care of my cracked aurora 88 demo. took 6 weeks but aurora black demo is back.

I've read about this happening to upscale Pelikans (adhesive failure at section/barrel join). I wonder what goes wrong. Glue aging out?
EDIT: Good photo of the problem, by the way.

When my Pelikan m800 fell apart it was just a couple years old. I think it was more likely a manufacturing defect.

Doesn't this all sound a bit like the apocryphal story about Rolls Royce? Customer calls them to say he has never had an invoice for the roadside repair that was made to his car and is told: "Sir, there must be some mistake: Rolls Royces don't break down"...charming anecdote, I think, and it sounds relevant here, inasmuch as Aurora evidently know there is a inherent weakness in this pen.
