Is there an Ink wet/dry comparisons source?
Hello all!
I was wondering if there was a consolidated source for Ink comparisons? You know one where you can quickly learn if an ink is considered dry or wet....etc? I am very new to the fountain pen world and I see a lot of great websites that will have reviews and top five suggestions but I have not found a trusted consolidated source. Do you all have any suggestions? Maybe one that has like a comparison tool? Thanks for any suggestions!

First off welcome.
Note that all comparisons need to be taken with a grain of salt.
Most ink comparisons if not all are subjective :)
There are so many factors. Pen/ nib/ paper and the mood of the reviewer ;)
Mountain of Ink is a good resource. Though she doesn't like Noodler's inks.
If you are looking for wet or dry inks. It's easier to look for a list of dry inks and then go from there :)
Good luck :)

No such thing. What @Yazeh said is what to expect.
However, there are review sites which compare (in the reviewer's opinion) the different inks in a single brand. Here's two such sites:
https://everythinkelse.wordpress.com...ingner-inks-2/
http://www.marcuslink.com/pens/ink/montblanc.htm
As for the true wetness or dryness, that is something you will have to decide for yourself.
Also, welcome to the forums. :)

Thank you both for the welcome and the info! It is greatly appreciated. I kind of had the idea that it is somewhat subjective but wanted to make sure I was not overlooking something. Thanks again!

Good luck to you, but I’ve found little that was meaningfully helpful in my journey. Now, I can suss out clues from lots of discussions, but it took time and practice.
A Fundamental Mnemonic: Waterman is Wet, Pelikan is Pdry.
Also Pilot is wet, but it’s not a good rhyme either.

Thanks for this! I can remember that!

I too would find this helpful...but you have to consider paper and type of pen as well, so it can get complicated. I usually go on YouTube and look up the ink I’m interested in. There are a lot of great channels that do ink reviews

Thanks for the tip! I am finding a lot of info out there. Just have to keep digging and tailor the combinations of paper, pen, and ink to my liking. I understand that this will be a long term process but I do enjoy it!
