Summary of the posts of the past month
For those who havent been able to keep up with recent posts here is a summary of the posts of the past 30 days:
Q: How many people does it take to repair a pen on FPG?
One to fix the pen and to post that the pen was now fixed.
Fourteen to share similar experiences of fixing their pens and how the original pen could have been repaired differently.
Seven to caution about the dangers of using superglue.
One to thank six of the seven, he didn’t like the superglue advice from #7
One to say that the pen should not have been repaired because it was brand new and should have been sent back
Seventeen purists who use dip pens and are offended by pen repair discussions.
Six to argue over whether it's 'fountain pen’ or just ‘FP'.
Another six to condemn those six as stupid.
One says he doesn’t like being called stupid and says he will leave FPG in 23 days and 10 hours if people think he is stupid.
Twenty-two to tell those six to stop being jerks and that maybe FPN would be a better place for them, or in fact anywhere else.
Two industry professionals inform the group that the proper term is 'cartridge pen’ because there is no vacuum pressure in the original pen repair.
Fifteen know-it-alls claim they were in the industry and that 'fountain pen’ is fine and that the current industry professionals are wrong (and stupid)
One says he has reduced his FPG time to 22 days and 6 hours, so please hurry up and answer my posts and tell him that he is not stupid.
One to post memes and gifs (several are of pedants revolting and obscure paintings, “I’m just here for the comments and the likes.”)
One to post pics of his coffee, pens, notebook and motorcycle and gets everyone thoroughly pi55ed off.
Nineteen to post that this forum is not about pens but it passes the time, so please answer my posts and comments.
Eleven to defend posting to this forum saying that we all use pens and therefore the posts are relevant here.
One says that social studies and Niche says that pens are elitist and we should only have one pen so he is selling his pens and anyway he is upset.
Twenty-four to discuss the merits of pens that have swirly plastics and says they are more valid than pens that write well.
Forty-four to claim children should be banned from using pens because the nibs can do harm.
Twelve to post FFS and WTF.
Eight to ask what that means.
One says is it something to do with XF or OF
One says he has had enough of being ignored and if people don’t recognise this he will cut his leaving date down to 13 days, at the most, before he goes.
Three go out to buy champagne so that it will be well chilled in two weeks.
One says what sort of pen should I buy.
47 give him advice, all different.
One says buy a Parker 51.
20 call that man a recidivist but accept after questioning that they don’t know what it means.
One says what sort of ink should I put in my new Monteverde, and ask would green suit me.
One says use Diamine.
50 faint in surprise.
Four to say, "Didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
Thirteen to say, "Do a search on Pen Advice before posting questions about what pen should I buy"
One to ask where can I go to buy some pen storage?
Two give advice on B and M shops that sell cabinets for pen storage
The one says, but I don’t leave the house any more.
Two say FFS.
Re: Summary of the posts of the past month

Re: Summary of the posts of the past month
A completely accurate picture of Fountain Pen Geeks.
Re: Summary of the posts of the past month
And ...
One actually took the time to compile a summary of the posts, which of course, starts the whole cycle of response all over again.

Typical Italian, riding on grass, up hill, at speed, no hands, styled by Armani and staring at her boobs.
Re: Summary of the posts of the past month
I think that you have summed up really well why we are all here.
Thank you.
Re: Summary of the posts of the past month
I believe you forgot:
10 to ask "is my MB fake?"
3 to answer: You should post a picture.

Only 3? Where did they all go?
Re: Summary of the posts of the past month
Also, the 8 who, after reading most of the new pen buying advice, order what they wanted anyway and return for affirmation that they made the right choice while they wait for delivery. 12 chime in to congratulate decision and 3 that offer up new recommendations for other pens because...well, they know.
1 mentions cookies and well, pen discussions are done.
