The "nasty version" did not go to a current user when I searched. : Sorry no matches.....etc . So that nasty version has been removed

This is what I'm seeing on my ignore list. I did have all the troll names - they're all gone except these two. I think deleting Dill is a mistake.

I don’t know how significant this is, but if you go to ASD’s profile, it says “Banned”.

I had the troll names, which i don’t see anymore and ASD. I only see ASD now.

Remember, the admin can see things that you can not see, that may very well have linked ASD to the other newly created accounts. If that was the case, they would have banned based on that information. Not unreasonable.

In a word, meh.

I wondered about this. Maybe an ISP?

Neither of them go to a current user when I search. So they aren't still here.
Re: FPG Refuges Status Area: The 2020 FPN Diaspora
I asked Dill.
"If there was any ‘suspicious’ activity from my IP address, it was because I was downloading pages by script, to try to see whose posts weren't getting hit with the ‘thanks’ and maybe identify likely culprits"
So, it appears his account was deleted deliberately. I think it's wrong. So wrong that it will be the end of my participation here too.
I had intended to stick around because there have been some kind people and interesting content the past month. I thought I could contribute and ignore the abrasiveness that made me drift away before, but there's no Ignore list for injustice.

I figured as much. That makes total sense.
Except the part about leaving. Indeed this is offensive, but there will always be injustices wherever you go. I would ask that you reconsider and stay. :)

So an absent landlord shows up long after the residents have been compalining about a blocked sewer, and they evict the person that was trying to fix it. Great.

Oh for the luvva Mike.
What did Dill think he was doing? Being filmed in shadowy black and white while slow jazz and Raymond Chandler's narration played in the background? Making reeeally sure it wasn't Pterodactylus? The silly arse got caught poking his nose where it didn't belong, and was swept up in a dragnet by an apathetic admin who wants to spend as little time and attention on this place as possible. Maybe his old account will be reinstated the next time the stars align, in any case it's hardly a matter for Amnesty International.
Re: FPG Refuges Status Area: The 2020 FPN Diaspora
I don't think there is anything wrong with using a script to get stats. (Assuming that's what happened.) Sure lots of people don't have much in the way of internet literacy, but that's no reason to condemn those that have. Yes, it may have been polite to ask the site owner, but at that point there was none. And I think it was a genuine attempt to be helpful.
Re: FPG Refuges Status Area: The 2020 FPN Diaspora
Once again, i find myself agreeing with Ole. This place wouldn’t be the same without you, Amanda.

Nailed it.
Re: FPG Refuges Status Area: The 2020 FPN Diaspora
I assume the site belongs to someone and they have the right to do whatever they think is best. I am a guest and should act like one. I also agree with what RonZ has posted.
Re: FPG Refuges Status Area: The 2020 FPN Diaspora
So what exactly do people think is wrong with downloading pages by script in order to do whatever analysis one wants? I don't get it.
When you put stuff on a public server it's public. The public can do with it whatever they want. The internet is for everybody.

No doubt. But is that the whole story? I don’t know.

If that is the case, you would have left FPN as well ages ago. There have been instances of polite people being banned from FPN.
