I got my first Preppy a couple weeks ago, and was impressed by the quality for such an inexpensive pen. The sprung Slip&Seal cap is especially nice at this price point. I keep it at the office just to have a contrasting color for my work notes -- the included red ink leans a bit pink, but does not bleed through the pages of our corporate notepads, which is a big plus. This is from a Medium (0.5 mm) nib. For comparison, Pilot Black from a Fine-nibbed E95S does bleed through a bit, although Pilot Blue-Black does not.
Given my use case, I don't expect to go through the cartridge quickly, so the dry-out resistance should prove useful.
I think I'll give this a go sometime, if I can get the o-rings here in the UK.
A data point: my Preppy went unused for six weeks, started without a hiccup. The Slip&Seal inner cap works!
